We created collages in LunaPic then learnt about how to make a positive and thoughtful comment.
We had a go creating these comment using the comment function in Slides.
You can see our collages above.

We learnt how to make a slide animation. We put a background in and used the explore tool to search for images to insert. We had to duplicate the slide then move our object a little before repeating the process. We had such fun creating these.
Here is Ishan’s creation.
We learnt how to do magic today!
Did you know that there is a tool where you can remove the background out of a photo? We used this with photos of ourselves and then created a slide with a new background to put ourselves in. Some of us used these creations to make a Father’s Day card.
Here is Smanatha’s
We learnt how to SMRF today.
That is…
STOP
Make a copy
Rename
File
Here is Maddox showing the actions we use to remind ourselves of the SMRF acronym.
Kia ora koutou,
We have been learning about Digital Footprints.
We found out that a digital footprint is permanent.
We learnt that there is some information you should keep private – to yourself and close whānau and not put online. There is personal information that is ok to share online.
We created this All About Me slide to share personal information (not private information) with you.
We have been learning about our online footprint. We have learned that everything we share online can be searched, copied, shared, and is permanent. We learned this by watching a video and talking about what we’d seen; we also talked about times when we’ve shared something online and it’s been copied and shared without our permission. This is important information to learn because we have started our class blog, so we are actively sharing information online, during class time.
We made a map of our digital footprint from the last 24 hours.
Here is a slidedeck of our maps. We hope you enjoy looking through them.
We have been learning about how to edit a Google Slide. We learned that if we triple click (one finger, three taps) on the text in a text box, we can change the writing. We wrote our first names, then we could change the font (writing style) that our name was written in if we wanted to.
Next we learned how to insert a picture of ourselves by using the Camera app. Some of us had to take a few pictures before we got one that was appropriate for school. We learned that it’s helpful to have a plain background behind us to take a good selfie, and to make sure there wasn’t a bright light behind us so that our faces showed up in the picture.
The last thing we learned to do was use the masking tool to make our selfie into a round shape.
Here is a slidedeck of our work. We hope you like looking through it.
Hello, we are Room 6, a year 3 class at Poroutawhao School in New Zealand. We live in the Horowhenua, near Waiterere Beach. There are 14 students in our class – 11 gentlemen and 3 ladies.
Our school has two playgrounds, an assembly hall, a hockey turf, a big field, a forest, a pool we can swim in, and a library. Something we love about Poroutawhao School is getting to go do fun things while we’re at school, for example the Waitarere Beach cleanup. We love to play with each other and be kind. We get Dojo rewards. We appreciate having a really clean and tidy school.
We would love you to visit our amazing and comment on the great things you see. Watch this space for the amazing activities we’re going to do this year.
